M.O.S. — Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Maurice Operating System (M.O.S.) is a privately operated personal productivity and information management application.

M.O.S. integrates with Google services to support calendar synchronization, contact management, daily planning, and personal information organization.

The application is intended for use by its authorized account holder.

2. Information Accessed

With the account holder’s authorization, M.O.S. may access:

Google Calendar

  • Calendar lists and calendar events.
  • Event dates, times, titles, descriptions, and related scheduling information.
  • Calendar information needed to prepare daily schedules and upcoming appointment summaries.

Google Contacts

  • Contact names and associated contact information.
  • Information required for personal contact management.
  • Permission to create contacts when the account holder explicitly authorizes that functionality.

M.O.S. requests Google Calendar permissions that may allow calendar modifications. Its currently identified Calendar integration uses those permissions for retrieving scheduling information rather than creating or modifying events.

3. How Information Is Used

Information obtained through Google services is used to:

  • Prepare daily calendar snapshots.
  • Display upcoming appointments and commitments.
  • Support personal scheduling and project organization.
  • Maintain continuity between daily planning sessions.
  • Retrieve and organize contact information.
  • Create contacts when explicitly authorized.

Google account information is not used for advertising or marketing.

4. Information Storage and Security

M.O.S. operates within a personal Obsidian workspace.

Calendar snapshots and OAuth connection information, including authentication tokens, are stored locally on the account holder’s computer.

Authentication tokens are used to maintain authorized connections with Google services.

Access to locally stored information depends on the security of the computer and its user account.

5. Information Sharing

M.O.S. does not sell Google user data.

Google information accessed by M.O.S. is used for the account holder’s personal productivity and information management.

M.O.S. does not intentionally disclose Google user data to advertisers or data brokers.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Calendar snapshots and application connection information may remain in the local Obsidian workspace until removed by the account holder.

The account holder may disconnect Google accounts, revoke application access through Google Account security settings, and delete locally stored application information.

Revoking Google authorization prevents further authorized access but does not automatically delete previously stored local information.

7. Google API Services User Data Policy

M.O.S.’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

8. Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated to reflect changes in M.O.S. functionality, Google integrations, or data-handling practices.
